Béla Hartmann: Paraphrase on a Folk Song by Brahms (2020 - First Performance)

Finally a return to live concerts at the Hindhead Music Centre. Béla Hartmann plays the magical Chromatic Fantasy and Fugue by Bach and Beethoven's late Sonata in A op. 101, the closest he ever got to a musical love letter. In between, the delayed first performance of Béla Hartmann's own Paraphrase on a Song by Brahms, the third of his Homages to the composer's vocal music.
